The contract is revocable and can be cancelled prior to the execution of the round. Dependent on budget considerations and access to new aerial photos, the monitoring round is expected to have a duration of 5 — 10 years. NIBIO has carried out the first round of area representative monitoring of Norwegian protected areas. Through this work, a monitoring methodology has been established that must be furthered in order to give comparable data. In order to obtain comparable data, it is important that a similar interpretation basis is used as in the first round. Through the first round, joint training, coordination and control have been carried out that ensure equal interpretation of data.
