Talesyntesen(e) skal brukes til lydteksting (tekst til tale) på alle NRKs fjernsynskanaler, NRK1, NRK2 og NRK Super/NRK3. NRK oversetter fremmedspråklige program til henholdsvis bokmål (75%) og nynorks (25%). Leveransen må støtte tekst til tale for begge målformer.
Det er fremmedspråklige program i lineær utsendelse som skal lydtekstes på dette stadiet.
Volumet i 2012 på fremmedspråklige program var 7368,6 timer for alle kanaler. Det forventes små variasjoner på dette volumet kommende år. NRKs fjernsynskanaler med lydteksting vil bli distribuert til publikum som egne kanaler på forskjellige distribusjonsplattformer. NRK må ha rett til å distribuere tekst-til-tale lyden uavhengig av tekniske publiseringsplattform.

The speech synthesis will be used for spoken subtitling (text to speech) at all NRK television channels, NRK1, NRK2 and NRK Super/NRK3. NRK subtitles foreign language programs into the languages Norwegian “bokmål” (75%) and Norwegian “nynorsk” (25%).
The delivery must support text to speech in both languages. It is programs with foreign languages in linear distribution that will be made accessible with spoken subtitling at this stage.
