The current operational contract between Hordaland fylkeskommune [Hordaland municipality] c/o Skyss and bus operator Tide Buss AS for the operation of route package Osterøy is valid until 28 February 2020 including option years.
In connection with the preparation of the tender documentation for new operational contracts, Skyss has implemented a hearing in the operator market in relation to how the route packages should be divided. On the basis of feedback and assessments at Skyss, it has been decided that the contract for bus operation at Osterøy will be merged with the contract for Bergen nord [Bergen North] in the new tender. Economies of scale connected to the purchasing and operation of materials, administration costs, costs connected with communication and logistics and better utilisation of the necessary facilities in relation to each individual contract were important arguments for the merger.
