University of Jyväskylä is going to acquire a new modern ultrasound imaging device capable of real time shear wave elastography to support our research in muscle and tendon biomechanics. In our research we record both static images and video sequences during muscle contractions and movements. Our research frequently combines measures from different sources, thus the device needs to have capability to synchronize the collected images with other external signals such as force. In addition to musculoskeletal applications, our interests cover a wide range of human physiology from liver function to cerebral blood flow. Thus, we will give quality points for additional applications as well.
