For untargeted metabolomics there are not yet any international consensus validation procedures and we have therefore developed our own published standards that we adhere to for continuity and transparency of our research. These procedures need a similar UPLC and similar software able to process former validation data. We have specific methods that need to be transferable. Existing UPLC methods should be able to be transferred directly from the existing UPLC platform to the new system (identical delay volumes, etc.) We have quite many data sets that we want to be able to analyze on a single platform. The software should be able to process, report and store data from the existing UPLC-MS/MS instruments in a format compatible with data from a new IMS-QTOF. Moreover, the software should be able to improve the quality of previously acquired data as well as new data from the existing UPLC-MS/MS instruments.
