The Danish Safety Technology Authority is a
public authority under the Ministry of Business and Growth, where the focal
point is technical safety in a number of legal fields.
In 2014, a new Tobacco Directive (Directive
2014/40/EU) has been adopted, which shall also apply to e-cigarettes containing
nicotine. The article on e-cigarettes shall enter into force at the latest on 20
May 2016. In this relation, the Danish Safety Technology Authority needs to
identify the availability of laboratories that can meet the tests and controls
required by the Directive.
In future, the laboratory services will be
included in the Danish Safety Technology Authority’s controls of e-cigarettes
in the field.
General information:
The Danish
Safety Technology Authority obtains offers from several players. There is no
pre-designated supplier for the task.
