The contract is for services to Danish development assistance for strengthening media ethics in Niger, which is an element in a wider program for support to stability and democracy 2013-2016. The successful candidate shall provide program management services, including the servicing of program authorities and the management of Danish funding destined for Nigerien media partners, which include state and private media regulators, media associations and media projects including community radios. Also, organisational development and media professional technical and advisory services shall be extended to the program partners from the point of view of strengthening the space for and the role of media in a fragile environment.. Services may or may not be rendered through the establishment of a permanent management set-up in Niamey, Niger.
It would be an advantage if the applicant has experience with:
— systematic and effective work with organisational management and institutional development or partners, including monitoring & evaluation processes and assessment of impact,
— management of media development programmes in fragile states and countries in conflict,
— financial management, joint donor arrangement and core funding support with multi-partner programmes,
— development and sustaining partnerships also among media funding partners.
