Short description
Turnkey delivery of economizer to Kivenlahti bio-heating plant.
Kivenlahti K4-boiler was commissioned in 2020. The fuel power of the boiler is 49 MW. The fuel is solid wood fuels which consist of recycled wood, forest biomass (forest residues, hard wood chips) and industrial by-products (bark, saw dust). The boiler produces heat to the district heating network of Espoo. The boiler is connected to the district heating network with a heat exchanger. The boiler is a water boiler equipped with a stream drum. The steam is used only for the boiler’s own use. The design pressure and temperature of the boiler is 16 bar (g) and 204 °C.
The boiler has two economizers, both situated in the second pass of the boiler. The economizer to be renewed is the latter one in relation to flue gas flow, consisting of finned tubes: water going in approximately 110-130 °C and flue gas going out approximately 130-180 °C. The current tube material is P235GH or equivalent to this. The economizer needs to be renewed because of suspected damage done by steam soot blowers.
