The present procurement is carried out by The Niels Bohr Institute at University of Copenhagen. Quantech will provide scanning electron microscopy and other services to academia and industry within the emerging quantum technologies. 2800000.00 As part of the new Danish national scientific infrastructure center Quantech, The Niels Bohr Institute at University of Copenhagen is procuring a scanning electron microscope for development of nano-scale components for quantum technologies. Quantech is an open facility with a projected used base comprised of both academia, SMEs, and established high-tech companies. According to the European Parliament and Council Directive No 2014/24/ EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, Article 32.2), point b, the University of Copenhagen believes that the present system from JEOL is the only system in the world that meets our requirements. A critical parameter for the Quantech center is the ability to monitor a wide range of nano-scale quantum devices, ranging from strongly insulating materials, ferromagnets, anti-ferromagnets, topological insulators, semiconductors, metals, and superconductors. Often the devices are processed into complex 3-dimensional nano-structures, which laterally extend over hundreds of microns. This puts extreme requirements on the ability to control the beam current. The present system is state of the art in that regard. Furthermore, keeping the running costs at a minimum requires a long lifetime of the emitter. 1) The JEM-7800F Prime can reach very high probe currents. At 30 kV JEOL guarantee a minimum of 500 nA for all JEM-7800F Prime. This particular instrument has been tested to reach 800 nA, which is much higher than any competing products. At 2kV JEOL guarantee 20 nA, but this particular instrument has been tested to provide 50 nA at 1 kV. 2) Aperture angle control lens (ACL): Additional lens that is one of the reasons JEOL can provide high currents with sustained high resolution. By turning of the objective lens this can also be used as an objective lens, giving the microscope an extreme working distance and hence an extreme focal depth (‘Large depth of focus mode’). This lens is also coupled to the objective lens in such a way that it significantly reduces the change in focus that occur when changing the current — something that can be an issue with other SEMs. The ACL is a JEOL patent. 3) The In-lens Schottky Plus FEG installed in the JEM-7800F Prime sees the tip of the field emission gun inserted into the magnetic field of the condenser lens. This is another reason for the high currents, especially at lower voltage. The other big benefit of this style of gun is that the lifetime is guaranteed to be at least 3 years with a projected lifetime of significantly longer. JEOL has many customers with this style of gun for whom the gun has lasted much over ten years. The shape of the condenser lens that allows for this is a JEOL patent. The Danish act on enforcement of procurement rules, etc. defines in § 2, para. 2, point 1, a standstill period of 10 calendar days from the day after the date on which the voluntary ex ante transparency notice is published in the Official Journal of the European Union. Latest at the same time as a complaint is lodged to the Danish Public procurement Appeal Board, the appellant shall in writing inform the contracting entity about the lodging of a complaint to the Danish Public procurement Appeal Board, and whether the complaint has been submitted in the stand still period.
