Particularly, the MoFlo will be used to analyse, separate and purify normal or tumoral neural stem cells, neural progenitors as well as glial progenitors based on their surface markers or via the expression of transduced green fluorescent protein (or its analogues-red or other colour proteins) under the control of phenotypic specific promoter and enhancer. The isolated or sorted cell population can be further used for cell culture, RNA-extraction and RNA-seq, western-blot and cellular transplantation. The MoFlo will also be used to analyse, separate and purify micro-particles, from as small as 200 nm to 30µm diameter. 3325000.00 Acquisition of a 3 lasers MoFlo Astrios EQ Cell Sorter to Center for Basic and Translational Neuroscience, University of Copenhagen. Center for Basic and Translational Neuroscience comprises 2 principal research groups and has a total of 30 employees and students. The Center's research is focused on neural stem cell and glial progenitor biology as well as on astrocytic physiology and pathology, cerebral blood flow and its glial regulation. The MoFlo Astrios includes several performance features that include index sorting using mapped events, mixed mode sorting and 6-way sorting. In addition, the MoFlo Astrios offers the unique ability to analyse and isolate micro-particles down to 0,2 µm resolution. Furthermore, through the use of jet-in-air technology, the MoFlo Astrios is well known to vastly improve viability and yield of sorted population compared to other FACS equipment.
