The intended procurement includes a high temperature elemental analyzer coupled to an isotope ratio mass spectrometer as well as equipment for analysis of liquids and various gases. The new equipment will thus enable stable isotope ratio analysis of hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur in many different sample types (solid, liquid and gaseous samples). The procurement will result in a state-off-the art IRMS facility at PLEN, which several research groups will benefit from. It is especially expected that the new facilities will open up for novel plant and soil science related activities and national and international collaborations.
