EISCAT Scientific Association is conducting a project with the goal to construct a new radar system, EISCAT_3D, which will be a next generation incoherent scatter radar capable of providing 3D monitoring of the atmosphere and ionosphere. EISCAT_3D is primarily designed to investigate how the Earth's atmosphere is coupled to space, and the system will be a multi-static radar composed of multiple phased-array antenna sites containing crossed dipole antenna elements. The radar sites will be located in Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The purpose of this enquiry is to acquire information from potential bidders regarding manufacturing the Pulse and Steering Control Unit to be used at the EISCAT_3D active site in Norway.
