When the tender was announced, Sør-Trøndelag County said it would provide the infrastructure if this was a prerequisite for the tenderer. The chosen operator has offered electrical ferries that require the establishment of land based infrastructure for charging and mooring. In order to ensure uniformity in the project and to minimise the risk in what we see as a development project, the county must choose the same technical main supplier that the operator will use. This notice is, therefore, for the choice of a system integrator and underlying charging infrastructure. Attention is drawn to the fact that the contract has not yet been awarded, but will be awarded if there are no objections to this notice, cf. FOA §21-5. The electrification of ferry transport is being continually developed and efficient charging is critical for operation. The ferry and quay system must communicate with each other in order to ensure running time and to minimise the risk. As the systems are not currently standardised, the same supplier is a necessity. There are 3 main reasons why the same main supplier must be chosen: 1. The ferry and quay must communicate with each other. 2. So that the physical plug and socket are compatible. 3. The development of the power electronics on the quay and ferry must coincide. See the technical description in the notice's annex.
