The facade is based on a unitized system with panels spanning horizontally. Each metal panel constitutes its own structural part, designed for vertical and horizontal loads. The panels are made in raw aluminum, fitted with glass infills, net infills or no infills depending on the functional criteria. The perimeter of the building is approximately 520 m and the building height varies from 35 m to 90 m.
The facade consists of 3 panel types:
Type 1, wind and water tight, low thermal and acoustic insulation values, with glass in fills used front of tipping hall and process hall.
Type 2, open, with net for bird protection, used in front of concrete walls and as cladding on the lower ramp for public access to the roof.
Type 3, wind and water tight, high thermal and acoustic insulation values, with glass in fills, used front of administration.
Each panel types has a number of variations accommodating the panels to the rounded corners, the sloped roof edge and sloped buttom of the facede in certain areas.
