Danish Defense Acquisition and Logistics
Organization (DALO) plans to tender an update of the Royal Danish Air Force
(RDAF) AS550 FENNEC helicopter fleet. The fleet consists of 11 AS550 FENNEC
helicopters.
The AS550 FENNEC fleet was introduced to RDAF in 1990 and has since its
introduction only undergone a few minor modifications. The update is motivated by obsolete systems and components. Non-Compliance with EU directive from end of 2018 (EU regulation No 1207/2011 (surveillance) and EU regulation No 1079/2012 (voice)) and that the existing Electro Optical system (EO) and Video Down Link (VDL) capabilities do not live up the
operational requirements
regarding image quality and cockpit workload on the operator.
