The envisaged electronic data management system should extend the infrastructure and functionalities of the current integrated library system (ILS) used by EIGE's library. The performance of the library requires a fully integrated LS for computerising a majority of library tasks like cataloguing, production of reading lists and bibliographies, management of serials, management of acquisitions, management of loans and users, production of statistics and reports, selective dissemination of information, operational detection system.
Another aim is to host a platform or hub or interface of already existing information/resource centres and libraries on gender equality in Europe and to offer a single point access to their resources through 1 common search engine, reference service, and bibliographical database.
