Delivery of macrodata to ATP

A key driver of the time-variation in asset market returns across asset classes and regions is the macroeconomic development (e.g., growth, inflation and labour market developments). ATP wants to enhance its understanding of the link between asset markets and the real economy – both globally and within a single country or region – in order to strengthen the integration of the macroeconomic development in its investment process.

To be able to rely on macroeconomic data and letting it have an influence on ATP’s investment decisions, it is of most importance that the data is transparent and of high quality. Furthermore, is it necessary that the vendor have sufficiently historical data available as ATP will be back testing its model-frameworks, and that it covers a wide range of countries from both national and international data sources. It is also important that the data coverage is wide in terms of the number of time series for an individual country and that it specifically includes reliable demographic projections. Finally, in order for ATP to utilize its quantitative model-framework for investment decisions in real time, it is crucial that the data can updated be quickly and smoothly.
