The project shall develop a coverage map with area estimates of areas with high probability of natural forest and Sitka spruces by using remote measurement data, and where a production course for completion, tests and delivery of a first edition of all-covering national maps by 2020 shall be developed. The project shall use air photos, laser scanning, the Landsat and Sentinel satelites as data sources, as well as collecting neccessary ground truths. The project shall, through geographical analyses, illuminate ecological connections in the landscape and suggest how natural forest and Sitka spruces can be monitored. The project contains five options.
