The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) is responsible for managing the country's water and energy resources. We are responsible for ensuring a reliable supply of electricity and improve society's ability to handle flood and landslide risk. The department of ICT and Information Management has responsibility for serving all other departments of NVE with well-functioning and stable ICT services, whereas the section of Geomatics and Data Analysis has a special responsibility for the GIS services. NVE is a directorate under the Ministry of Energy (ED). The NVE head office is in Oslo, and the regional offices are located in Narvik, Trondheim, Førde, Tønsberg and Hamar.
