Eesmärk
The regional monitoring of insects in 2021 will obtain knowledge on the regional status and changes in the entire insect diversity in two terrestrial ecosystems: Forests and semi-natural land. The monitoring will be carried out in the Østlandet region. The programme has the following main aims:
• the establishment of minimum 20 new monitoring areas; at least 10 areas in forests and at least 10 areas in semi-natural land;
• gather relevant explanation variables in each of the established areas;
• estimate relevant management response variables for insects;
• estimate central biodiversity indexes based on the gathered data;
• further develop environment DNA as an identification tool and validate the results against the traditional taxonomy method;
• update established protocols and guidelines that are required for monitoring insects on a regional and national scale.
