The investment grant for 24 hour sheltered accommodation flats and nursing homes was established in 2008. The aim of the scheme has been and is to stimulate municipalities to renew and increase the offer of places in nursing homes, institutions and 24 hour sheltered accommodation flats. The target group for the scheme is everyone with a need for 24 hour nursing and care. The investment grant is given for construction, procurement, alteration, improvement, hire or other method of obtaining 24 hour care places.
The Housing Bank of Norway administers the grant on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Care Services and the grant is given to the municipalities.
The investment grant is now in its 10th year and HOD and the Housing Bank of Norway would like to have a general evaluation of the scheme in order to get more information on how the scheme works in the municipalities.
