The municipal council in Kvinnherad has decided that a mapping is to be undertaken of as much of Kvinnherad Municipality as possible with the aim of formulating a precautionary map of quick clay landslides.
Kvinnherad Municipality would like to have a dialogue with the branch in order to discuss how such a mapping can be undertaken in order to best respond to the municipal council's order.
The municipality would particularly like input from the branch on the level of detail and practical implementation in accordance with NVE's guidelines.
The municipal council has put aside NOK 3,000,000 excluding VAT for the measure. The municipality will assess this limit on the basis of the dialogue.
Registration deadline: 10.11.2022.
The date for the dialogue conference will be set after the registration deadline has expired.

The municipality has currently one known quick clay area at Tofte in Halsnøy (

The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Administration (NVE) states, amongst other things, the following on reviewing the danger of quick clay landslides:
'A review of the danger of a quick clay landslide must show that the requirements in TEK17 §7-3 with guidelines are met. The review ought to follow the procedure in NVE's guidelines 1/2019 chapter 3.2, but it is possible to split up the delivery depending on which level of detail you want'.
