The section for Cultural Heritage in Rogaland County is the regional cultural memorial authority in Rogaland County. Every area plan and building application is professionally assessed by the section´s executive officers for possible conflict with cultural memorials. If unknown cultural memorials are assumed to be within the area affected by the development plans, historical cultural registrations must be carried out. The aim of these registrations is to clarify the extent of automatically protected cultural memorials within or close to the planning area, which must be taken into consideration in the planning work. The Section for Cultural Heritage carries out a large number of historical cultural registrations each year. Three different methods are mainly used for this; surface registrations, samples and mechanical search pits with an excavator. An outside contractor is required for mechanical search pits with an excavator. The framework agreement is for the procurement of contractor services for such cultural historical registrations.
