The Department of Biology intends to acquire a new 600 MHz NMR spectrometer and upgrade existing 750 MHz and 800 MHz spectrometers. The equipment will be used for research in structure and function of biomolecules, primarily proteins. The purchase is part of the department's strategy that intends to strengthen the research based on bimolecular NMR spectroscopy.
