Danish Defence Acqusition and Logistics Organization (DALO) is in the process of acquiring safety related spare parts for the armoured vehicles, EAGLE IV, PIRANHA IIIC and DURO IIIP. In relation to this procurement, safety related spare parts are defined as spare parts relating to road and material safety and safety of personnel, which are vital for the steering mechanism, braking system and protective parts, and which by use of malfunctioning or unoriginal parts can have detrimental or lethal consequences for the persons operating the vehicle. General Dynamics European Land System - MOWAG GmbH (GDELS) is the only supplier on the market that can deliver these safety related original spare parts and the only company that have the intellectual property rights to produce and sell the proprietary spare parts.
For safety reasons DALO requests to procure these original spare parts from the system supplier and DALO can therefore only purchase the required safety related spare parts from GDELS.
Until the framework agreement is signed DALO has urgent need for spare parts and therefore intends to purchase the needed safety spare parts regularly on individual purchase orders.
