The Music Museum (MuM) is a special museum under the National Museum of Denmark (NM) to present the development of music and music instruments. The Museum will move from its current location in the street Åbenrå to the former Radiohus, Rosenørns allé 22, DK-1970 Frederiksberg C, and in doing so it will become the neighbour to the Royal Danish Academy of Music, the Danish Suzuki Institute and Copenhagen Philharmonics.
The new permanent exhibition will open at the end of July 2014.
The exhibition will consist of six sub-sections:
European music history, Danish music history, the Sound Arcade, the Music Club (Spillestedet), the Pomp Room (Pragtrummet) and the World Room. All areas will mainly consist of various display case, walls, information pillars, ceilings with built-in loudspeakers and platforms, which will form a varied progression through the exhibition and stage the beautiful objects.
The project regarding construction of permanent display and exhibition elements for the Danish Music Museum is defined as a building and construction project.
