Assignment text

The Norwegian Defence Estates Agency [Forsvarsbygg] carried out the restoration of the Hjerkinn firing range in the period 2006-2021. During the project period, the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) monitored the vegetation to document the effect of the measures. NINA had the professional responsibility for designing the scheme and collecting all data. The Norwegian Defence Estates Agency/NINA has now completed the project, including monitoring vegetation. In a supplementary award letter per RNB in 2022, the Norwegian Environment Agency [Miljødirektoratet] was commissioned by KLD to establish vegetation monitoring at Hjerkinn. Revegetation after restoration measures at the former Hjerkinn shooting range will be monitored in accordance with established methods. The contracting authority will carry out a systematic review of a total of 27 restored sites. Furthermore, vegetation monitoring will be carried out in 80 established areas and wildlife monitoring in 150 established areas.
