Københavns Universitet Nørregade 10 Copenhagen 1017 Caroline Volf +45 35333391 caroline.volf@adm.ku.dk www.oko.ku.dk university Acquisition of Superconducting Nanowire Single Photon Detectors to Quantum Photonics group, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. 043-0254-17-7000 A total of 16 superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPD) housed in a cryogenic refrigerator. The detectors will be used to measure the photo luminescence from quantum dots and will operate at efficiencies >85 %. 14 of the detectors are specified for an input wavelength of 930nm, while the remaining 2 detectors operate in the telecommunications band at 1550nm. 1991506.94 Niels Bohr Institute, Blegdamsvej 17, 2100, Copenhagen, Denmark, DK. 16 superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPD) housed in a cryogenic refrigerator: 14 x SNSPD @ 930nm 2 x SNSPD @ 1550nm The cryogenic system (Cryospot 4 with Freeze4 Sorption Fridge) operates at a temperature of 0.8K and has a hold time of >30 hours when loaded with the maximum number of detectors. Input fibers, detector discrimination electronics, equipment software, cryogenic sorption fridge and compressor systems are included in the price. 043-0254-17-7000. Photon Spot, Inc. is located in Monrovia, California. They specialize in superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors, their applications, and sub-Kelvin cryogenic systems. Their Cryospot sorption fridge is a fully-automated closed-cycle cryostat that delivers temperatures below 1K (-272ºC, -457ºF) without the consumption and running expense of liquid helium. Photon Spot's single-photon detect. According to the European Parliament and Council Directive No. 2014/24/ EC, Article 32. 2, point b, the University of Copenhagen believes that Photon Spot is the only company that can provide a single system capable of housing up to 32 SNSPDs. This aspect of their Cryospot sorption fridge is important to the longevity of this investment, as it allows for the expansion for more detectors in future without the need to purchase another cryostat. Photon Spot is the only detector company offering a cryostat that operates below 1K temperature (all other companies operate at ~2.7K). As technology in the space of SNSPDs is changing year to year, the Cryospot system will allow us to take advantage of new materials development that may operate at lower temperatures. Photon Spot's detector technology has demonstrated the highest detector efficiency and lowest polarization sensitivity on the market, with >90 % and >75 % respectively. The exact specifications for each detector type are: 14 x SNSPD @ 930nm — Nanowire detector fibercoupled to 5um core singlemode fiber (SM780). — System Detection Efficiency @ 930nm, max. polarization: 85 % +/- 5 % (target >90 %); min. polarization: >50 % (target >75 %) — Recovery time (to return to full SDE): < 50ns (target < 100Hz (target 1-10Hz) — Jitter, FWHM: < 100 ps (typ. 70ps) 2 x SNSPD @ 1550nm — Nanowire detector fibercoupled to 9um core singlemode fiber (SMF28e+). — System Detection Efficiency @ 1550nm, max. polarization: 85 % +/- 5 % (target >90 %); min. polarization: 50-70 %. — Recovery time (to return to full SDE): < 70 ns (target 35- 40ns) — Dark counts @ max SDE: 100- 300Hz — Jitter, FWHM: < 100 ps (typ. 70ps) Common to both detector types: — Detector biasing electronics — Room temperature low noise amplifiers — Sharp positive or negative pulse output (0 to 150mV pulse height for positive; 0 to — 150mV for negative pulse output). LVTTL output module also available as option. The cryogenic system (Cryospot 4 with Freeze4 Sorption Fridge) operates at a temperature of 0.8K and has a hold time of >30 hours when loaded with the maximum number of detectors. Input fibers, detector discrimination electronics, equipment software, cryogenic sorption fridge and compressor systems are included in the price. 2017-05-02 Photon Spot 142 West Olive Ave Monrovia, CA Monrovia 91016 +1 6262282610 sales@photonspot.com +1 6262283510 www.photonspot.com 1991506.94 Klagenævnet for Udbud Dahlerups Pakhus, Langelinie Allé 17 Copenhagen 2100 +45 35291000 klfu@erst.dk http://www.klfu.dk Kokurrence- og Forbrugerstyrelsen Carl Jacobsens Vej 35 Valby 2500 +45 41715000 kfst@kfst.dk http://www.kfst.dk 2017-05-11
