The Danish Defence
will in 2017 acquire two variations of a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat 850 (RHIB
850). Variation one (1) is for The Danish Defence, Multi-role frigates and
Arctic patrol ships, which primarily operates in the waters around The Faroe
Islands, Iceland and Greenland, and variation two (2) is for the Danish Defence,
Command & support ships and Frigates which operates Worldwide.
It is approximately 30 boats.
RHIB 850 will
basically be used for taking care of operational and logistics tasks like
transport of staff and/or goods in different scenarios, fishing control plus
Search and Rescue. Deployment of RHIB850 will take place from ship to ship as
well as from ship to land. RHIB 850 must be able to operate globally under all
weather conditions.
