A short description of the nature and scope of the procurement:
A decision has been made that the veterinary training and the Norwegian Veterinary Institute shall move from Adamstuen in Oslo and be jointly located at NMBU in Ås as a result of the merger of the Veterinary University College and the University for the Environment and Life Sciences to Norwegian University of Life Sciences NMBU. The Ministry of Education has given Statsbygg the task of carrying out the construction project for Campus ÅS.
An MR 3.0T shall be procured in this project, which shall be installed in Building 155 level U2, which is located below ground along parts of the facade. Pictures will mainly be taken of dogs and cats, whilst they are under sedation. The equipment shall also be used for examinations on live horses under sedation, primarily of the head/brain, but also the extremities. Both live and carcass preparations are used for research purposes. Cartilage research and cancer research are examples of areas of interest that researchers from our university have. Horses will come to the MR on a compatible mobile table and pictured from the backside of the magnet. Small animals will be pictured in the normal way on the system's examination table.
