Helsingør Kraftvarmeværk A/S (HØK A/S) is planning a renewal of Helsingør CHP (HØK), establishing a biomass-fired boiler which produces steam to the already existing steam turbine. The fuel is expected to be primary wood chips, but other sustainable biomass resources may also be used. The existing CHP plant will still be able to operate and act as back-up for the new plant as long as appropriate.
The total estimate for the Works is approximately 520 000 000 DKK.
