The contract is for the establishment and coordination of a contact network with bird observers for annual monitoring of terrestrial birds through a national assessment network, as well as carrying out bird assessments by data collection and reports via the internet to the national database that is at the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research The work consists of following up a national network of 500 fixed assessment areas that were established in 2005-2013, 80 % of the assessment areas shall be registered and reported in 2014. The field work will mainly be carried out in the period 25th May - 14th July. The counts will be carried out by counting birds for 5 minutes at each of a maximum of 20 counting points for each area.
