A sequential, wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer for use in science and advanced education in geology, geochemistry, sedimentology and materials science. The instrument will be used for analyzing different sample types as Li-borat glas, pressed powder, loose powder, liquids and thin films on silicon or titanium substrate. The instrument must be able to perform quantitative analysis, semiquantitative standard free analysis and quantitative analysis with high accuracy based on calibration standards. The X-ray source should be at least 3kW power and the spectrometer must be able to analyze light elements at least down to atomic number Z=9. The instrument must have an automatic sample changer and features as specified in tender documents.
B: Sample preparation unit.
Fully electronic bench-top model for production of Li-borat samples from geological materials (crushed rock, sediment). The unit must be able to process two samples simultaneously, have adequate temperature control and a safe “cold-to-cold” operation and be able to produce homogenous melts from species of stone from basalt to granite.
