DTU requires a small injection moulding machine that can be used for preparation of test specimens processed in plastics. The machine is intended for use for preparation of single shot injection moulded samples either from pellets or powder, and therefore it is of high importance that we can run limited series of samples for small scale testing. Amount of material required for preparation of a single moulded specimen is of high interest since we work with low volume series. We need to be able to prepare test specimens of all the usual sizes intended for mechanical testing and evaluation, which covers at least tensile testing, DMA, and Rheology. Preferably, the machine will enable a broad range of fixtures to shape our samples into various test specimens. We will work with temperature sensitive materials, and therefore need to know the accuracy of the temperature control and the time required in the melt before a sample can be moulded.
