Tildelingsinformationer
The Geophysical Institute intends to acquire up to two (1-2) deep ocean gliders with rechargeable battery for use in the Nordic Seas, primarily from the Norwegian shelf break into the Norwegian and Lofoten basins, with water depths ranging from 200 m to 4 000 m. The gliders will operate along repeat transects throughout the year and contribute to the monitoring of the hydrography and circulation of the Nordic Seas, by sampling the temperature and salinity structure through standard CTD sensors and inferred ocean currents from depth-averaged currents and hydrography. Mission lengths of minimum 4 months duration, with flexible sampling schemes are planned. The gliders must therefore have rechargeable batteries.
