S&B has been given the assignment to implement time-based road user charging for all foreign passenger cars and vans in Denmark, which is to be operational in 2020. The scheme is foreseen to be implemented using electronic vignette where road users pre-pay for road usage for either 10 days, two month or a year. Additionally, S&B has also been assigned to lead the digitation and implementation of Low Emission Zones schemes for lorries and vans in five major Danish cities. Both schemes will be enforced using static (gantries) and mobile units (vehicles) with ANPR cameras. Any non-compliant vehicles will receive a notice with an administrative control fee.
The objective is to do a tender for a frame agreement covering technical solution, implementation & commissioning and maintenance agreements for both scopes, taking options for additional control points or more cities in the contract period into account.
