In this relation Comcores wants to invetigate entry barriers, market size and requirements for gateway product targeting 5G mobile networks. To investigate this a deep insight into the global mobile operation market is required as well as a technical insigth in the concept of fronthaul and cloud-RAN solutions.
Comcores has several key questions with regards to the business case for gateway to enable Ethernet connectivity on legacy fronthaul.
These include:
1. The product features which operators would require to adopt such a solution
2. The timing for adoption of these solutions
3. How operators would want to manage the switch
4. The potential total market size, and the addressable market for Comcores.
5. How Comcores would fit into the supply chain alongside the major OEMs and are MNOs ready to buy equipment of a different brand from their radio and BBU
