The waste management company for the Drammen region (RfD) plans to announce a tender competition(s) for the operation of a new transfer station, removal transport and treatment of household waste. The planned competition will take place in Autumn 2018, with the start of the contract 1.6.2019. The contract will apply when the new transfer station opens. The new transfer station is planned to be RfD’s new main transfer station (HOS) at Hokksund, and shall primarily handle residual waste, paper, plastic packaging, food waste and glass/metal. It is anticipated the new main transfer station (HOS) will open in Autumn 2019. RfD handles household waste from nine member municipalities and comprises approx. 180 000 residents.
