Short description

The main objective of LIFE Peat Restore is the reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by restoration of degraded peatlands in Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.

In order to assess the climate effect of the restoration:

1) The quantification of the baseline GHG dynamic of the project sites by using the GEST approach, and;

2) The calculation of the GHG-emissions during the restoration measures also monitored by the GEST approach.

To obtain actual values of GHG emissions of the project sites and to calibrate the GEST results, additional annual direct GHG measurements of the three main GHG, CO2, CH4 and N2O are necessary. It will be expected, that the tenderers work in close collaboration with the Estonian working group during the contract period. Contact information will be provided to the awarded tenderer.
