The ‘Ecosystem Monitoring Programme in Coastal Waters — ØKOKYST’ is intended to monitor and survey the state of the environment in selected areas along the Norwegian coast. The monitoring shall to provide knowledge of important ecosystems and species, and capture adverse effects of nutrients and particles at an early stage. The ØKOKYST Project shall cover the requirement for the national basic monitoring in accordance with the Norwegian Water Regulations. Parts of the ØKOKYST Project shall also capture the climate change impacts on the ecosystems.
The start-up for the programme is set for February 2018. This notice is for a programme cycle from 2018 until the completed annual report and data deliveries in 2019. There is an option for an extension for 2 years. In the event of an extension for two years, the final year of sample taking will be 2020 and the programme will end with the report in 2021.
