There is a need for fully automatic gene molecular microbiological quick diagnoses in order to achieve fast identification of specified microbes and resistance mechanisms. The instrument shall be cassette based and it shall be able to run at least four different tests simultaneously, independent of each other and which can be started independently of each other. The following tests must be covered: — Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) — The tuberculosis test shall simultaneously report the rifampicin resistance and be recommended by the World Health Organization). — VanA/VanB. — MRSA from cultivation samples that require PCR for MecA gene. In the long term, we would also like to be able to use the instrument for more agents, such as Influensa, RSV, Carba-R and GBS. Publications must be available for all the tests with high sensitivity and specificity. The system shall be easy to handle and have little hands-on time for the operator. The instrument shall be operable in a 24/7 setting by personnel without a laboratory background. The analysis time must be approx. 60 minutes for a full process with extraction and real time PCR for MRSA and 30 minutes for influensa and RSV. The instrument must be compatible with and ready for integration with the hospital laboratory system, which is CGM Analytix.
