This RFI focuses on identity management for Alma and Oria, but a cloud based identity service could also be relevant for other services that BIBSYS offers.
There have been considerable challenges connected to user and identity management during the period that Alma / Oria has been in operation. A study carried out in the period October 2016 to February 2017 highlighted some scenarios of how these challenges can be met. A commercial cloud based system represents one of several alternatives, however, we need more knowledge on these types of systems in order to compare it with other alternatives.
BIBSYS are considering to start a process to procure a cloud based identity service, if this gives us a flexible and good system for the group's needs at a sensible price.
The deadline for responding to the RFI is 16.6.2017.
