Section for clinical pharmacology. Clinical pharmacology is a subject area where the tasks are to provide services for clinicians through analyses, interpretation of analyses and insight in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. The analyses for pharmacology are executed at three laboratories at Rikshospitalet, Spesialsykehuset for Epilepsi (SSE) and Ullevål. The antiepileptic analyses are mainly executed at the Section for Clinical Pharmacology (SSE). This section has a nationwide function and the largest selection of antiepileptic analyses in Norway. The laboratory at SSE aims at provide therapeutic pharmacovigilance (TDM) for all antiepileptic agents in use in Norway, as well as for other required relevant psychotropic drugs.
