Short description

We are seeking a scratch tester that can measure scratch resistance, adhesion, ‘self healing’, friction and scratch hardness properties. Relevant materials are metals, alloys such as steel, silicon or titanium, as well as ceramic materials, glass and composites. These can also be coated with different types of materials (organic or inorganic, hard or soft) and with varying thickness. The equipment must measure these qualities in an exact and scientific manner. Both progressive scratch tester and constant load scratch must e available. The equipment must be a compact platform with automatic computer analysis of the scratch depth etc., and there must be a microscope affixed for crack size documentation (panorama pictures of the entire bottom is necessary in addition to pictures with high enlargement). There must be a possibility for topography/geometry determination of the first surface, and this must be corrected in the software to ensure that there is no impact on the reported data. The supplied power must be regulated in an exact manner, and must be kept constant (constant load or constant load speed) during the entire measurement, even on non-level surfaces. Temperature staging can be of interest, so too will indentation testing alternatives and a friction recording system.
