Bærum municipality shall construct new sheltered accommodation for persons with dementia on a site in Dønskiveien in Bærum. Sheltered accommodation shall be established as a housing collective with 136 places divided between residences with eight residents, in accordance with a model from the Hogeeweyk dementia village in the Netherlands, adapted to the conditions in Bærum. Residents shall be able to live a normal life here with the homeliness that they are used to from before. In addition a nursing home with 22 places connected to the site is being considered. The site will have a communal area with different functions.
The main aim for those who are granted a place is that they shall be able to make use of the offer in the village. The nursing home will safeguard residents who no longer have any benefit from the concept.
The site will have a gross area of approximately 16 000 m² with good outside areas.
The project is at the draft project level. The tender documentation is being prepared.
Dønskiveien 39-47 shall be a pilot project within nursing and welfare and experience from this project will be used at future sites within the sector.
