The Laryngological section uses microscopes in the majority of treatments provided by the section. The section operates many patients several times a week, and receive patients with complications from all over Norway.
The microscope is used for review and treatment of throat and larvae cancer. It is used in connection with treatment of acute and more sub-acute threatening obstructive respiratory passages.
It is also used for treatment in connection with voice surgery.
The section assists other sections with laser treatment under a microscope, e.g. vascular malformations and reduction of soft tissue and tumours.
