The Norwegian Directorate for Health is a specialist director and an administrative body under and controlled by the Ministry Of Health And Care Services. The Directorate also performs tasks for the Ministry Of Local Government and Regional Development. The Norwegian Directorate of Health shall strengthen social security and the health of the entire population through comprehensive and targeted work across services, sectors and administrative levels. The Directorate shall conduct this based on its roles as a specialist director, regulatory manager and initiative taker in the health and human services policy area. The Directorate is headquartered at Universitetsgata 2 (U2) in Oslo, Norway and has about 900 employees.
The e-Health and the IT Division is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the prudent IT development in the health sector. This involves responsibility for the implementation of the strategy and the measures as described in the national strategy for electronic social interaction: Samspill [Interaction] 2.0 Plan, 'National strategy for electronic interaction in the health and human services sector 2008–2013'. The introduction of electronic prescriptions is 1 such measure.
We seek to enter into an agreement for the provision of consultancy services for assistance for EMR monitoring, monitoring of delivery systems, testing, pilot projects and implementation activities in e-prescription management. The assistance will mainly be directed to the project that includes an electronic multi-dose option in the e-description system (drugs in use in the Reseptformidleren [prescription database]) and upgrade to the e-prescription provider, version 2.5. In addition, the agreement will include technical assistance associated with the further development and maintenance of the Prescription Module, which is an e-prescription module developed by the Norwegian Directorate of Health.
