The «Pendlersykkel Forus» project is a two-year pilot project, the main objective of which is to prepare and encourage more people to cycle and use public transport (ideally combined) as their preferred means of transport to and from the workplace in Forus and to and from important «meeting places» in Stavanger. The pilot project shall introduce, test and measure the effect of a smart electric-bike system for commuters that shall contribute to maintaining or strengthening mobility through the use of bicycles (and electric bicycles in the long term) at one or both ends of the journey to work. The pilot project shall clear the way for a greater roll out of electric bicycles (and electric bicycles in the long term) in Forus and in the Stavanger region.
