II.3) Short description of the contract or purchase(s):

In 2008 Germany and Denmark signed a treaty to establish a fixed link between Puttgarden in Germany and Rødby in Denmark. The treaty includes upgrading of the Danish rail line from Ringsted to Rødby. A large majority of the political parties in Denmark did in March 2013 agree to upgrade the line to 200 km/h. The upgrade of the total 115 km line includes:

- establishment of a 60 km double track,

- replacement or extention of more than 100 bridges over or under the rail line,

- a new double tracked bridge crossing Masnedsund,

- a new single tracked bascule bridge crossing Guldborgsund,

- straightening of curves and renewal of tracks,

- passing track for freight trains.

The upgraded line is planned to open in 2020/21. The Ringsted-Fehmarn programme will be divided into several contracts ranging in size from a few million Euros to more than 100 million Euros. The total budget is approximately 900 million Euros. The electrification (catenary system and power stations) and the establishment of new signalling on the line in mention are to be delivered in separate programmes and are not part of this periodic indicative notice. Further information about the programme Ringsted–Fehmarn, including information about the size and complexity of the upcoming tasks, can be found at www.bane.dk/ringsted-femern.

Banedanmark is currently preparing the tender materials including contract notices for the upcoming tenders for Ringsted–Fehmarn. The tenders are currently planned to commence during the remainder of 2013 and in 2014. In order to provide potential bidders with more information of the timing, content and size of the different tender packages, Banedanmark would like to invite the potential bidders (construction companies and consultancy firms) to an information meeting on Tuesday 14th of May, 2013 at 1 PM in the Copenhagen area.

The purpose of this periodic indicative notice is solely to inform interested companies about the existence of the programme and about the possibility of participating in the above mentioned information meeting. The notice is NOT a call for prequalification applications.

To participate, please sign up at www.bane.dk/ringsted-femern or send an email to RFB-information@bane.dk no later than May 6th 2013. Shortly after this date, all participants will receive more details about the meeting.
