Short description

The Norwegian Police Shared Services (PFT) will during the following year announce several tenders for the procurement of different uniform and apparel concepts. In light of the recent situation concerning Covid-19/ SARS-CoV-2 and heightened concern of infection prevention, PFT seeks information from the market concerning this. This RFI is meant to gather information and recourses concerning what washing methods could be applied to certain textiles and accessories for the different uniform and apparel concepts. Uniforms for the operative police service are today specified to withstand 40 °C or 60 °C washing temperatures, primarily in household washing machines. Professional industrial washing and finishing methods for disinfection (eradication of viruses and harmful bacteria), might become the new norm for uniforms and apparel in the Norwegian police and other departments. The answers given in this RFI will help PFT with further specification of coming tenders.
